Ahmad H. Othman, MD F.A.C.S

As our founding surgeon he graduated from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso General Surgery program in 2018. Since then, he has dedicated his expertise to serving the rural communities of Eastern New Mexico. His specialization lies in general surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive surgery and endoscopy.

Edna R. Zapata, CNP

Edna R. Zapata is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and a master’s degree from Walden University. Before joinig Zia Medical Group, Edna gained valuable experience working as an ICU nurse for 8 years then as a nurse practicioner at Women’s Medical Center. At ZMG, she collaborates with Dr. Othman providing general surgery consultations and delivering primary care services.
